HAs Your Vehicle Sustained Frame Damage?
Frame Replacement

In some cases, repairing the frame of your vehicle isn’t an option. In these cases, a full frame replacement is necessary. The complete replacement of a frame is one of the most substantial repairs that can be performed on a body-on-frame truck or SUV. Few body shops are capable of a job the size and scope of a full frame replacement. Having your vehicle towed to a shop that isn’t equipped to tackle the job only to find out that your truck or SUV needs a new frame is more than just an expensive inconvenience, it has the potential to be a downright dangerous situation. At Covert Collision our ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certified mechanics and technicians have performed countless frame replacements and our facility has all of the mechanical equipment necessary to complete this work consistently and safely every time. It’s critical for the safety, not only of the vehicle occupants, but also for other motorists on the road that extensive work like this is done correctly from start to finish.

Frame replacement starts with diagnosis of a vehicle’s frame damage. If it is determined that the frame cannot be repaired, a new frame is ordered and usually arrives within 1-2 weeks. Once the frame arrives at our facility, our team will separate the vehicle body from the frame. This usually includes removing a wide range of electrical connectors, AC refrigerant lines, Fuel connections, cooling system connections, and much more. Next, all mechanical and suspension items that were not damaged in the collision are removed from the irreparable frame and installed on the new replacement frame. During this process our team replaces all one-time use nuts, bolts, and fasteners as per the recommendation of your specific vehicle manufacturer. After every single mechanical and suspension component is installed and torqued to factory specifications, our team will re-install the vehicle body. Finally, the vehicle is subjected to our extensive quality control process, which includes an alignment, test drive, OEM software scan, and re-checking of all work performed to ensure that your vehicle will operate as it did before the collision.
